Great Harry Potter pics

The last Harry Potter movie really strayed from the book, but before anyone panics, this accomplishes  2 things, first the ending in the book would not work on film because so much of it happened in Harry's head, second it provided a nice surprise ending for all of us who has read the books before we saw the movie.

Let's Talk About Fight Club

I know the first rule of Fight Club is “you don’t talk about Fight Club” but we know everyone was breaking that rule anyway, because how else could FC have gotten so big so fast?
The film Fight Club made its debut in 1999, and stared Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter.  FC is basically a social commentary against the emasculation of the American Culture and also decries our obsession with consumerism.   I read that Jans B. Wager once described the film as retronoir, if that doesn’t validate the whole point of the movie I don’t know what would.
To me the film was reminiscent of the works of George Orwell, if you’ve read his books they warned of a society that is swerving off into an extreme Fascism, with a message to us that we should correct ourselves before it is too late.
I loved the movie, and would recommend seeing it as many times as possible, and while you are at it, you should guilt trip that girl friend who forced you to watch chick flicks with her, into watching it with you.  It will be good for her.
